Who seems to really benefit from Standing? 

We believe everyone benefits greatly from standing often but some of the people we've noted that it makes a noticeable difference in are the Elderly, the acutely ill, Clients with Spina Bifida, Stroke, Cerebral Palsy, Amyotrophic/Primary Lateral Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy, Spinal Muscular Atrophy, and Multiple Sclerosis.

Before initiating a standing program, medical clearance is critical for the consumer to stand. Clinical data, and a review of relative risks and benefits of use, determine medical necessity. This information is gathered through clinical assessment and should, at minimum, include the following:

Rehab Team determines the most appropriate standing device for the Consumer

  • Least costly, equally effective. 

  • Schedule appointment to trial device 

  • Based on positive trial results pick the model

  • Make sure the client can utilize device successfully in intended environments.

Gather necessary
 Information from Rehab Team for product justification

Request for Authorization of standing devices are typically submitted by the CRT supplier and must be accompanied by clinical documentation from a licensed physician, OT, or PT.

Payment decision is received from funding source. 

  • Payment approval is granted- The  supplier will order the devices, schedule delivery and education.

  • Denial: If faced with denial claim, always            appeal .
